Thailand

Thai cooking uses rice as a basic ingredient for the majority of dishes. The word “food” in Thai language means literally “to eat rice”. Furthermore, it has 5 main tastes, which you may meet in almost every dish. These are: sour lime, savory fish sauce, hot chilli, salt and sweetness (usually added by palm tree).

Japan

Sushi, sashimi, unagi, and sake… we all know this. But this cuisine is not only about products and recipes, here a lot is about their indigenous culture and traditions. It is not surprising then that they made the whole world eat with chopsticks instead of knives and forks.

China

Chinese food is arranged in bite-sized pieces set for direct picking up and eating.  Fish are typically served whole and diners are likely to pull pieces from the fish using their chopsticks.  A whole fish means wholeness of things since it has a proper beginning (head) with an end (tail).  Chicken is another meat favorite in many Chinese meals.  While the chicken is cut into parts, every single piece is served including the gizzards and head.  In a Chinese meal, every individual is provided with a bowl of rice while the supplementary dishes are served up in shared plates or bowls. A hot tea or hot water is commonly served in a Chinese meal.
